On 1 January 2017, the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education officially declared ITAFoS a Higher Institution Centre of Excellence (HICoE). Our vision is to be a focal point for impactful multidisciplinary research to achieve food security. With this vision as our guide, we bring together committed researchers and students to put agriculture science into practice in innovative ways. With Universiti Putra Malaysia’s (UPM) long and proud tradition as a distinguished provider of education and research in tropical agriculture, ITAFoS is well positioned to contribute to national food security.
